Help Yara and her family survive and rebuild their lives
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Carina and I am writing to you from Germany.
I am asking for help for the family of Yara Arafat in Gaza. She and I have gotten to know each other through social media, we are the same age, both university students and yet she was denied the future she’s been working so hard towards.
This is a desperate plea for a desperate situation. As you know, Gaza has been under a relentless bombing campaign that has left at least 42,000 people dead. Yara and her baby (seen in the picture) have lost their home and are in critical need. They do not have enough food or water, they are unhoused, and they need warm clothes and blankets because it is getting cold. If you are unable to contribute, you can still help by sharing this campaign with your friends and family and on social media. Any small donation is much appreciated and will go to help this family of three!
A message from Yara Arafat:
Hello, I am Yara, 24 years old a woman at the beginning of my life, I graduated from the English Department of Gaza University in the Gaza Strip, grown up in the challenges of occupation and war.
My husband worked hard and tired to be able to build our simple house and we were living with our baby in this house.
Unfortunately the war came on Gaza and the Israeli occupation destroyed our house, destroyed Ibrahim's room and his toys, and my family became displaced and homeless, my husband lost his job as teacher and we lost everything.
That dreadful night will never be forgotten when all my family members were sleeping at 11 p.m. and all of a sudden missiles were dropped on our heads heavily and continued for three hours. We never imagined that we could survive that deadly night. All were in a very small room praying for safety. In the morning running out to any safe place, we did not know where to go searching about food and water since we had stayed two days in that room.
We were displaced about 6 times to look for a safe place. Now we live together with my mother, my father, and my only brother in a tent in one of the shelter centers, our conditions became very difficult and frustrating. My ambition was to complete my studies but this dream was shattered by this war. We have lost everything we own.
What is our fault for living through all this?
Now I am asking anyone who can help to donate to this personal fundraiser which will help me and my family to survive and rebuild our lives here in Gaza. Your donation no matter how small, will help save and rebuild our lives. Your contribution will support us. The short term we will use them for day to day survival in the camp where we are living. Longer term we will use the money to rebuild our home and get out of Gaza with my child and my husband to complete my studies and live away from the life of the ongoing war in Gaza.
Thank you for reading Yara’s story. Your support can make a difference.
(The complete sum of donations will be transferred to Yara’s bank account)
