My name is Yara, I am 28 years old, an architect and fashion designer. I studied in Amman and returned to my hometown to open my own clothing stores, creating everything for young women. I was so happy, productive, and contributing to my community. My dream was to build my own factory and give talented women in my country a chance to work and have opportunities in life.
But the war destroyed everything I had. I had many opportunities abroad, but I stayed because I love my country and wanted to help it. My family of seven—my father, mother, and siblings—worked with me in my stores. We were a productive, supportive, and beautiful family. My younger siblings, aged 16 and 14, have been out of school for two years, and their mental health is suffering deeply. My sister, Nagham, a talented model from our store, lost two years of her life because of the war and was unable to sit for her final exams.
I am truly heartbroken. I lost my work, my home, my dream, and my passion for life. Everything I built was in Gaza. I am afraid of losing my life or a family member. I have endured so much, but I cannot bear it any longer. I need a chance to live, to start over in a safe place, and to rebuild my life. I want to continue creating, working, and giving hope—not only for me but for all the talented women around me.
I have lost everything in the war, and your support gives us hope. We have endured immense pain and loss, and I still dream of providing my family with a safe place to live and a real chance to rebuild our lives.
Please, help me have a safe chance to live, work, and rebuild what the war has taken from us.
