On August 31st, Yance Bryan from Cisco, Georgia, was in a serious ATV accident. It wasn’t until the following morning, September 1st, that he was found and airlifted to Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Yance spent several days in the ER due to a lack of available ICU beds and was finally moved to the Trauma ICU on Thursday, September 5th.

The accident left Yance with a subdural hematoma, a major concussion, an orbital fracture to his left eye, and burns and abrasions across his body. He has been suffering from memory loss, confusion, and a loss of fine motor skills, which means he is unable to work until he fully recovers—a process that could take weeks, months, or even over a year.

Yance is a hard worker, providing for his family by doing manual labor on a farm. However, without insurance or any disability benefits, his inability to work has put a significant financial strain on his family. He has two young kids and his girlfriend, the mother of his children, who depend on him.

After being discharged on September 10th, his doctors recommended rehabilitation, but Yance was initially denied emergency Medicaid to cover his hospital stay, treatments, or ongoing therapy. Thankfully, on September 12th, Yance was approved for charity care for the next six months, meaning his much-needed surgeries and therapies will be covered. Praise the Lord!
