Help Yana Fight Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
My name is Andriy, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my incredible mother, Yana Polietova. Yana is a devoted wife to Paul and a loving mother to me, Andriy, and my sister, Evelyn. At just 47 years old, her life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with aggressive triple-negative breast cancer in February 2021.
About Yana
Yana is a talented esthetician who has dedicated her life to helping others feel confident and beautiful. Originally from Ukraine, she has a heart of gold, always putting others before herself. She has spent countless hours helping family members acclimate to life in the United States, especially those who arrived as refugees seeking a new beginning. Her generosity and compassion have touched so many lives, and now she needs our help.
Our Journey
Since her diagnosis, Yana has bravely undergone:
Chemo infusions
Six months of oral chemotherapy
35 rounds of radiation
Three surgeries
Immunotherapy treatments
Despite the grueling treatments, she remained resilient and continued to work to support our family. However, the cancer is relentless and has spread to her left arm, causing severe pain that requires morphine to manage. The immunotherapy we hoped would be a breakthrough unfortunately backfired, causing her immune system to attack her organs.
Each time we received promising news, it was quickly overshadowed by setbacks as the cancer became more resilient. The emotional and physical toll has been immense, but Yana's spirit remains unbroken.
Why We Need Your Help
We are now exploring clinical trials that offer a glimmer of hope. These treatments are critical but come with significant medical expenses. The financial burden has been overwhelming:
How The Funds Will Be Used
Mounting hospital bills
Costs for new and specialized treatments
Daily care expenses to improve her quality of life
Supporting our family's critical needs due to her inability to work
As immigrants from Ukraine, we have also been supporting other family members adjusting to life in the U.S., adding to our financial strain. This medical crisis threatens not only Yana's life but also our family's stability.
Our Hope and Appeal
There have been moments when we've felt like we've hit a dead end, but we've never lost hope. Yana is so young and has so much more to offer to everyone around her. We are optimistic about the clinical trials ahead and are praying for a miracle.
We humbly ask for your support in any form:
Donations: Any amount, big or small, will make a significant difference.
Sharing: Please share Yana's story with others to help us reach more people who might be willing to help.
From the Bottom of Our Hearts
Your generosity will not only assist with medical expenses but also lift our family's spirits during this challenging time. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about Yana. Your support means the world to us and brings us one step closer to giving her the fighting chance she deserves.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Andriy
