Help Yakeen Continue Her Dream of Becoming an Architect

Donation protected
Hi, this is Yakeen Elhadidy. I’m now an architecture student heading into second year at Epoka University in Albania. Last year, I launched a GoFundMe campaign to help fund my education abroad — and thanks to your overwhelming kindness and generosity, I was able to start my journey.
I want to take a moment to say thank you— from the bottom of my heart — to everyone who supported me. I wouldn’t be here without you.

Why You Haven’t Heard From Me
I truly wanted to keep you all updated on my progress throughout the year. Unfortunately, Albania is an unsupported country for GoFundMe , which meant I couldn’t access or post updates through the platform once I arrived. Still, please know: I’ve been working hard, studying full-time, and pouring my heart into every design, every model, and every assignment. I’ve made the most of your support, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
To help you see what I’ve been doing, I have also attached some pictures of my architecture projects and moments while I’m presenting them — so you can be part of the journey you helped make possible.

What I’ve Achieved So Far
This past year at Epoka University has been intense — but incredibly rewarding. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new country, system, and language, I’ve managed to achieve grades far above the average in a demanding architecture program.
With continuous effort, discipline, and long hours in the studio, I’ve earned a CGPA of 3.52/4.00 — and my most recent semester GPA was 3.80 .
These results reflect more than numbers — they show the dedication, focus, and gratitude I carry every day, knowing that this opportunity was made possible through your belief in me. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, and I’m even more determined to continue improving.

Why I Need Support Again
Egypt’s economy continues to struggle, and the exchange rate has worsened— now at around 1 euro ≈ 58 EGP . Even though I’ve received an additional scholarship this year, the total cost of living and studying abroad is still beyond what I or my family can afford.
Studying architecture is not only expensive — it also requires specialized tools, materials, and technology. I’m doing everything I can to keep expenses low, but without additional help, I won’t be able to continue this journey.

How I’ll Spend the Money:
€3100 for school tuition (I received an extra scholarship this year)
€230 per month house rent includes meal plan, electricity, internet , water (we pay all of it at the beginning of the month to the student housing company), 2300€ per year
€40 per month for transportation, 360€ per year
€50 per month architecture materials, 450€ per year
€120 residency fees
€500 flight tickets
≈€1000 architecture laptop

€7840 total sum, ≈ $9150

How I’ll Receive the Money
All donations will go to my uncle in the United States, who will directly send the amount to me. I have converted the total amount of my spendings to dollars.

Why This Matters
I am the first in my family to attend university. My dream of becoming an architect is about more than just a career — it’s about making a difference. My family has worked tirelessly to help me get this far, and they’re counting on me to succeed.
With your help, I can continue this journey .
Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer.
Thank you again for believing in me.

With all appreciation,
Yakeen Elhadidy
