Hi, my name is Yaffa Benyaminov. I am 18 years old and live in Brooklyn, New York. I spent this past year in a Bais Yaakov Israeli seminary called Pninim. It was a year that completely changed my life. Before Pninim I was struggling in my judaism. What I was holding onto was slowly slipping away. Before, I wasn't focused on growing more. I was okay with what I was currently doing, finding no need to want to change. But Pninim helped me see beyond what I knew. Pninim Rabbis and teachers showed me how much more I could be doing and how much greater I could become. They gave me the tools I needed, guided and supported me, every step of the way. I got answers to questions that I never thought would be answered. I've learned and gained so much out of this past year. Pninim really helped me grow and flourish.

But growing never ends. There is so much more I want to learn and gain to strengthen myself and my hashkafos. Luckily, Pninim has a Shana Bet program where I can solidify what I have learned. It's a positive and uplifting environment, surrounded by supporting staff members, mentors and growth oriented young women. For some, Shana Bet is another year away from home, but for me it would be a year to take what I have already learned in Shana Aleph and reinforce and strengthen it. I want to broaden my perspective, and understand concepts that don't make sense to me, so they do resonate within me. Shana Bet is a huge opportunity to take what I am given and take it with me all throughout life, to build a better future for myself and my participation in Klal Yisroel.
