Help Y. Caron Avoid Eviction and Stay in Sweet Auburn, ATL

Hi! I’m Y. Caron. I’ve lived in Atlanta for 20+ years and work serving communities in the non-profit sector as a consultant. Over the last 6-8 months, drastic changes to funding priorities and other organizational shifts have caused me to lose long-term and potential contracts resulting in financial instability. During this time, I have amassed a considerable amount of debt, but the most worrying is rent. Only being able to pay a portion of the full balance every month has left me owing my landlord over $7,000 in back rent and late charges. I’ve experienced housing insecurity in the past and the prospect of eviction weighs on me every day. The stress has me depressed, anxious, and worried that I may not be able to get back on my feet.

I have an amazing, social justice focused landlord who is willing to work with me to pay down my debt and avoid eviction, but I just need some help to meet my goal while I search for full-time employment. I love what I do. I love the historic Sweet Auburn neighborhood I live in and am deeply invested in its progress and future.
