Help Xochitl Stay Afloat During Her Healing
Donation protected
I write this today with humility and hope on behalf of a great friend of mine, a loving and kind human being, Xochitl. Unfortunately bad things happen to good people and sometimes help is needed. Xochitl was struck by a car while on foot in the parking lot of her apartment complex as she was moving in, on Tuesday December 31st. The impact of the car caused fractures in both ankles and severed an artery in her wrist resulting in two blood transfusions and a surgery. She is currently stuck in a wheelchair with at least two more surgeries to go through and undoubtedly rehab to follow. The driver that struck her left the scene and left Xochitl lying on the asphalt bleeding to be found by her daughter’s father and a kind neighbor that was passing by. Xochitl is unable to work and doesn’t have the means through her employer to obtain help as she started only a month before the accident. Sadly, Xochitl is unable to care for her 6 month old daughter due to her health restrictions and has had to send her daughter to be cared for by family across country. Xochitl does not have family locally that can assist her on a daily basis meaning she is currently caring for herself. We are asking for help to obtain enough money to keep her in her apartment by being able to cover rent and expenses to get to and from check ups and surgeries as she is not able to drive either. The situation has been hard to navigate and we are seeking help from anyone and everyone we can, so if you have the means to provide any assistance we would greatly appreciate it.
