Postpartum and Alone: Help X Survive & Fight ICE
Donation protected
In early June, beloved community member J was abducted by ICE while driving to church with two of his daughters–just three weeks after the birth of his third daughter. J is a hardworking construction worker and an asylum seeker who had diligently attended every one of his ICE check-ins before his violent arrest. As the primary breadwinner for his family, his absence leaves behind his three young children and his wife, X, who continues to face postpartum health challenges.
X and J came to Rhode Island as asylum seekers, having endured persecution and the murder of their own immediate family members in their home country. They have loved being a part of this community and have seized every opportunity to contribute, working hard, being active in their church, and focusing on the educational opportunities for their children.
We, X and J's community, are raising urgent funds to support their family during this time of crisis. Funds will be used for J's legal fees and for food, shelter, and other basic needs for X and their children, including their six-week-old infant. Please find it in your hearts to give generously, and if you know of other resources that can help this family, please reach out.
