Despite her determination, the financial burden has become too great for Ximena to carry by herself.

Hola, mi nombre es Ximena Rivas, tengo 52 años y desde el año 2019 lucho contra un cáncer de ovario que ha regresado en más de una oportunidad con metástasis.

He pasado por cirugías mayores, quimioterapias y distintos tratamientos que me han permitido alcanzar periodos de remisión. Sin embargo, en 2024 el cáncer volvió de forma más agresiva, obligándome a iniciar una tercera línea de tratamiento que hoy mantiene mi enfermedad controlada, pero que no está cubierta por el sistema público de salud.

Actualmente necesito continuar con el medicamento Olaparib (Ibyra), una terapia fundamental para mantener el cáncer a raya. El costo anual de este tratamiento es inalcanzable para mí, ya que he debido financiar mis tratamientos anteriores con ahorros, créditos, rifas y la ayuda solidaria de muchas personas.
