To all our Friends and Community,
XILLI is a small, immigrant-founded company set on creating the best, most delicious, authentic Mexican preparations available. We started our company, in part, to offset the stereotypes we saw in most Mexican-branded products and to create offerings that honor Mexico’s true culinary heritage, culture and traditions and leave a positive footprint on our country’s culinary legacy.
We are reaching out on this platform to share an unfortunate story that recently happened to us and has hurt us deeply in our hearts.
A few days ago, an individual, who, we have learned, has a substance addiction and in recent weeks has become increasingly volatile and prone to violent outbursts, set fire to our company’s delivery vehicle.
OUR TRUCK BEFORE

OUR TRUCK POST-FIRE
As you might imagine, we are extremely confused, shocked and sad. While we are incredibly grateful that no one was hurt in the fire, this truck has been part of the XILLI family since the inception of the project and we are very sad to see it literally go up in smoke. On top of the destruction of the truck, we also lost a considerable amount of inventory that we were transitioning to be delivered to our vendors who were waiting to receive their orders.
Some of you may know, the reason we were using this 50+ year-old vehicle for deliveries was because our goal was to hopefully one day turn it into a food truck, with the intent of bringing the flavors and quality craftsmanship we put into XILLI products to a more authentic street-level approach.
With a unique aesthetic, housed in this 1960's Citroen H Van, our XILLI Truck was meant to be the foundation for a standout brand of delicious Mexican Street Food - nothing fancy or pretentious, just well-crafted dishes, taken back to their roots.
OUR DREAM FOR THE FUTURE

We are asking our community and friends, if you have the means, to help us replace the inventory which was lost, and to help us rebuild the vehicle that was once our beloved delivery truck and that one day we had hoped would be the next phase of XILLI.
From what we have learned so far, this being such an old and sturdy vehicle, the shell was strong enough to withstand the fire and outer damage, and might be able to be restored; but as you can see in the photos, there is a considerable amount of work that needs to be done and many things that will need to be replaced entirely.
Any amount that could be contributed would be incredibly helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you, as always, for all your support
