I’m raising funds for Xian, an incredibly brave 11-year-old boy from the Philippines, who is now facing leukemia for the second time. He’s the eldest of two children of Monette Miranda and Rowel Sibayan.
In March 2023, their world turned upside down when Xian began developing unexplained bruises on his arms and legs. At first, his family thought it was just due to his active lifestyle—he was a varsity athlete at the time. Xian would often say he might have bumped into something, and the bruises weren’t painful. But as they continued to appear without clear cause, his family decided to have him checked.
After a series of tests, Xian was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He immediately began chemotherapy. Thankfully, after his first round, he went into remission and successfully completed a total of five sessions by December 2023.
However, during his regular monthly checkups, doctors noticed his platelet count was dropping. In December 2024, the family received heartbreaking news—Xian's leukemia had relapsed.
He underwent one more chemotherapy session at his original hospital, but was referred to a specialized facility for a stem cell transplant, which is now critical for his recovery. Unfortunately, only two hospitals in the Philippines offer this procedure. His new doctor has required another intensive round of chemotherapy to prepare for the transplant.
The costs are overwhelming. The hospital bills are now four times higher than before. Both of Xian's parents, who work overseas, had to return home to be tested as potential donors, and are currently without income. Their savings have been exhausted from Xian’s previous treatments, and the stem cell transplant will cost even more.
We are humbly asking for your help. Your prayers, words of encouragement, and any amount of donation will go a long way in helping Xian fight this battle once again.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
