I’m raising funds for our cat, Xena Warrior Princess, who is a deeply loved part of our household and one of my partner’s registered emotional support cats, alongside her sister Raven Claw. We recently realized Xena had been dealing with serious mouth pain after she kept wiping her cheek so much that she accidentally clawed herself and caused a scab. We took her to the vet, had blood work done, and got a second opinion. That is when we learned she has dental resorption and needs multiple tooth extractions. Because Xena is also in the early stages of kidney disease, the vet cannot keep her under anesthesia for too long, so her treatment has to be split into two surgeries instead of one.

Xena is at Agoura Hills Clinic right now, and today’s care includes x-rays, her exam visit, dental surgery, anesthesia, and careful monitoring with hourly phone calls from the doctor. We have already had to sign up for monthly installments to manage today’s bill, and we still do not know what the second surgery will cost. That next procedure will need to happen in about 6 months so her kidneys have time to recover before the remaining teeth can be extracted.

My partner is currently on a leave of absence from work for medical reasons, and I am the only one working right now. Xena and Raven Claw mean so much to our family, especially as emotional support animals for my partner.
