Xena is our sweet, 3 year old, French and English Bulldog mix, and she’s truly the heart of our family. She came into our lives unexpectedly, but it felt like the universe knew we needed her just as much as she needed us. Xena is the sweetest potato—she loves to nap, rest her chin on our legs, and bring comfort to everyone around her. Her gentle spirit and loving nature have made every day brighter for us.

Unfortunately, Xena’s breed is prone to allergies and infections, and she recently became very ill. She developed a high fever of 104.6F and had to be rushed to the emergency vet because she stopped eating and drinking, and began vomiting bile. Right now, the veterinary team is working hard to stabilize her. They’re running blood tests, sedating her to place an IV for fluids, and preparing to do an X-ray to rule out any obstruction. Depending on what they find, she may need even more care and treatment in the days ahead.

We are doing everything we can to help Xena recover, but the costs of emergency care are overwhelming.
