My name is Ying, and this fundraiser is in support of my cat, Xena.
Xena has been with me for years and is truly a part of my family. I’ve spent many years living overseas, mostly on my own, away from my family. During that time, I went through major family loss, a painful divorce, and many other hardships. Through all of it, Xena was there — sitting next to me when I cried, sleeping by my side when I felt completely alone, and giving me a reason to keep going.
This year, Xena has already gone through skin surgery and spleen surgery, and now she is facing chemotherapy for a type of cancer called Mast Cell Tumor (MCT). Her chemo treatments are every three weeks, and each visit costs around $1,300–$1,500, including the chemo, bloodwork, and medications.
On November 20, 2025, I was suddenly laid off from my full-time job. My official end date is in early December, but I’ve already lost the security of knowing I have a stable income coming in. I live alone and I’m responsible for all my living expenses, Xena’s chemo, and caring for my other cat, Molly, who also depends on me for food, vet care, and a stable home. I am actively looking for a new job, but these recurring medical bills are more than I can handle by myself right now.
Xena is still eating, purring, and I want to keep her comfortable and give her the best chance to stay with me and Molly for as long as possible. Stopping or delaying her treatment would seriously affect that.
How donations will be used:
Chemotherapy every 3 weeks ($1,300–$1,500 per visit)
Blood tests and monitoring
Medications and follow-up vet visits
If there is any extra, it will go toward future vet bills and basic care for Xena and Molly while I search for a new job.
Asking for help is very hard for me, but I can’t do this alone right now.
Any amount truly helps, and sharing this page also means a lot.

Update logs:
<12/14/2025>
Xena went to the ER on 12/12 at 9 PM due to severe diarrhea and vomiting. On 12/13, she resumed her weekly IV chemo and supportive medication at home. We are back to square one.
<11/29/2025>
The oncologist changed Xena's chemo to a more potent drug called lomustine (CCNU), since she kept losing weight (she was 4.3kg in July, 3.87kg in early November). Today, she weighs only 3.8kg, has little meat, and is very bony. It's been a harrowing Thanksgiving week. The next appointment is 12/20. We will check in to see how she reacts to lomustine. And we stopped using Palladia at home, and continue daily steroid shots.
