Hey everyone, my name is Lauren, and I’ve created this fundraiser for my stepbrother Xavier’s fight against a rare bone cancer, called Osteosarcoma, which is an aggressive cancer most common in teens and young adults.
Just a few things about Xavier, he’s 15 years old, loves spending time with his friends and his cat Whiskers, as well as playing video games, and eating ice cream and donuts.
In January of this year Xave was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma which only 80 individuals are diagnosed with yearly. He started his Chemotherapy treatment in early February and is booked in for surgery in 3 months time for a left leg amputation.
These funds will go towards medical fees, medical equipment and a prosthetic leg or in Xavier’s words “a bionic leg”.
This is such an important fundraiser to my family as it has made us all realise how quickly life can change, especially for a kid as young as Xavier. It will also be taking some of the financial pressure off so Xavier can get the treatment he needs, as my stepmom has had to stop working to be able to take him to all his doctors appointments in Melbourne.
