On Sunday night, September 15th, we rushed Xavier to the Emergency Room and we found ourselves in a whirlwind of emergency surgery to remove multiple clusters of arterial and venous blood clots down Xavier's right leg, ICU, a myriad of doctors, nurses, tests, stress and worry. Over a 2 week time period we had surgeries almost every other day only to ultimately have to decide that an above the knee amputation would be the best path forward for Xavier to be able to heal and get back to livin'. On day 25 in the hospital we were able to transfer to a rehabiliation facility for Xavier to begin the journey down an extremely long and costly road to recovery. Our ultimate goal is to have Xavier walking again on a prosthetic by the New Year. In which we will be screaming from every mountain top, "THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE IN 2025!"
