Hey there. We’re setting up this GoFundMe for our son, Xavier (Caspiante). All donations will go directly to him into his account. We are asking for help for him because he is completely disabled, living on a very sparse SSI income with multiple living expenses and bills. The goal would pay off all his current medical bills and bills incurred with his health issues. He currently has been on and off hospice several times and ongoing medical care with local Physicians who are doing everything they can to keep him comfortable.

He has a rare form of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome called Arthrochalesia. Unfortunately, with most EDS patients he has suffered several severe comorbidities including gastroparesis, MCAS, dysautonomia/pots, pure autonomic failure, osteoporosis due to the malnutrition and now suffering from cervical dystonia. He has been to Cleveland clinic, UPenn, Temple, Jefferson and multiple specialists locally. Cleveland Clinic told us he was one of the few patients they couldn’t help. His body isn’t doing well at all and if we can help relieve any amount of stress due to the bills, we want to try.

He is currently on his 3rd PICC line (he had a port that degraded through his skin), failed his GJ tube, failed TPN and can only eat minimal amounts of food. He’s been through hell and back with his medical treatments. He has to get IV fluids daily to help with his autonomic failure and that doesn’t always help. Its symptom management at this point as there isn’t anything anyone can do, as we’ve been told.

Any help would be immensely appreciated. He is not the type of person to ever ask for help and would give you his last dime on someone else.
