Hello my name is Xavier Rivera. I live in Payette Idaho and I am a sophomore at Payette High School. As a future career I am deeply interested in FCS education. FCS or Family and Consumer Sciences is what others may know as “home ec” or life skills. At Payette High School, I serve as the president of Payette FCCLA. FCCLA stands for Family Career and Community Leaders of America. This is a career and technical student organization which builds leadership skills through FCS. Other CTSO’s you may have heard of are FFA, DECA, and HOSA. On Thursday, March 12th, I competed at the state leadership conference for FCCLA in Boise. I won a gold medal and placed first in the state of Idaho, qualifying for nationals. My goal is to attend National competitions in Washington D.C July 6-10. Last year, I attended nationals in Orlando, Florida. My first time was so special and I had some of the best moments of my entire life. I hope that I can attend this conference again to compete against the best of the best and create more memories that will last a lifetime. I need support to help make this dream come true. A total of about 1800-2000 dollars is roughly the cost of my trip. This will include meals, plane tickets, hotels, competition fees, registration, and activity expenses. I would be BEYOND grateful for any support or donations. I am also VERY willing to work for any money. I appreciate any and all support. Please ask me any questions you may have. Thank you!
