Help Xavi, Sam and Carter Kick Cancer´s Butt
Donation protected
In the summer of ´22, Samantha started noticing that her 10 year-old son´s left eye was swollen and drooping. Over the next few months, doctors would determine that Xavier (Xavi) had a tumor growing between his eye socket and his brain. The tumor was growing rapidly and had begun to wrap around the eyeball itself. Xavi was ultimately diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the soft tissue. The family was informed he will need aggressive treatment to recover.
Xavi has been undergoing weekly chemotherapy since December. In late February, he and his mother will move into the Christopher´s Haven apartments at Mass General Hospital to begin 6 weeks of radiation treatment and continued chemotherapy. Following radiation, Xavi will face another 3 months of chemo to complete this phase of his treatment.
Sam, a single mother, has missed a considerable amount of work these last few months. She will not be able to work at all during the six-week radiation period. To add to their hardship, Sam suffers from major seizure disorder and is currently unable to drive due to recent seizure occurrences.
We are hoping to raise money to support Sam and her children (Xavi and his brother, Carter) through the rest of his treatment, and to help them build a future for themselves once they kick cancer´s butt. This will include their food and transportation needs in the short term, as well as their living expenses down the line.
Your support during this time unimaginably difficult time is so greatly appreciated!
