Xander is a veteran who recently moved to Aurora, Colorado, to start a new job at Amazon. Not long after beginning work, his car was stolen right out of the Amazon parking lot. He hadn’t been working long when this happened, and the loss hit him hard—especially as someone living with PTSD. The situation only got worse when, after the car was recovered, it was stolen again just a week later. This time, it was taken from outside his home while he was inside for a quick lunch, and it was never found. Despite calling the police, insurance refused to pay, leaving Xander with the burden of paying off the stolen vehicle and no way to buy another one.
Since losing his car, Xander has had to rely on Uber to get to work, medical appointments, and the VA to settle his benefits. The cost of rides is eating up his entire paycheck, making it impossible for him to save or get ahead. The VA is willing to help him purchase a car, but he needs a down payment to secure it. Right now, the VA is holding a vehicle for him, but time is running out. Without reliable transportation, Xander risks losing his job and the stability he’s worked so hard to build.
As Xander’s sponsor, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult this journey has been. When he left the military, he had nothing—he waited nearly two months for his belongings to arrive from Hawaii, and he had nowhere to go. My family welcomed him in, and now he’s become part of our family. We’re asking for your help to get Xander back on his feet. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Please consider supporting a veteran who has given so much for our country. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
