On May 8th, my daughter Wynter Rayven Winston will graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, along with a minor in Arts Management & Administration.

These past years have stretched her in so many ways—there have been highs and lows, but through it all, Wynter has learned to remain grounded and persevere, even in the most challenging moments. Her faith and determination have carried her, and her heart is full as she

prepares for this next chapter.

Wynter has been recognized for her leadership and talent, earning multiple scholarships and serving in various leadership roles, including President and Vice President of Front N Center, choreographer for several organizations, and host and creator of the Black Austin Tour. She has also been celebrated as Miss Black UT 2024 2nd Runner-Up and Homecoming Queen 2025. Her performances have been selected for prestigious galas and festivals, and she continues to inspire those around her with her dedication and creativity.

Now, Wynter has been given an incredible opportunity to attend a six-week dance intensive in Chicago with Deeply Rooted Dance Company beginning on June 8 through July 18, 2026. This program is a dream come true for her and will allow her to grow as an artist, connect with other passionate dancers, and take the next step in her dance career. However, this opportunity comes with significant expenses for tuition, room, and board.
