Help Wylda Cottrell Rebuild her life in Altadena
Donation protected
My name is Janet Okamuro, a long-time friend of Wylda Cottrell from Altadena, CA 91001
This GoFundMe is to assist Wylda Cottrell rebuild her life who has been displaced by the Eaton Fire.
Wylda has been a long-time resident of Altadena, CA, a retiree from AT&T, and a woman of faith who is always giving back to her community, church, friends, and family. At the age of 74, she never thought she would be homeless and without transportation.
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the winds knocked down trees at her home, so she walked to her neighbor’s house. During that evening, they received the evacuation notice due to the Eaton Fire. She and her neighbors got a few items together for their one-night stay at the hotel, thinking they would be back tomorrow in their homes, and off they went in her neighbor’s car.
Unfortunately, the Eaton Fire had other plans and burned all their houses down to the ground. Wylda’s car was in the garage, so that is gone too.
Her little neighborhood is determined to rebuild and start over because they love their little community. They know this will not be tomorrow, next month, or even within the year.
Wylda needs our financial support to start to rebuild her life. Her fixed retirement income only goes so far, and as we all are aware, her insurance and FEMA assistance money will only cover so much of the costs needed to rebuild her life.
All donations are going directly to Wylda, we appreciate all your support in this difficult time.
Let’s help her rebuild!
No amount is too small or too big—every little bit counts. Let’s come together as a community to give back to Wylda who has given us so much.
Thank you for your generosity and for keeping Wylda in your prayers.
She really need help with and how it will be used.
Needs: Shelter, clothing, food, and basic essentials.
• Recovery Costs: Finding a new place to live and starting the process of rebuilding her forever home in the neighborhood she loves.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for everything.
God Bless You,
