Help Wyatt: the two legged puppy tossed in a dumpster
Donation protected
Hi my name is Lara Pleasence and I’m trying to raise money for Baby Wyatt to get the mobility devices that he will need in order to live the life he so deserves. Horrifically, Wyatt was found tossed out with the trash, in Phoenix Arizona after someone heard a puppy crying from inside a large garbage dumpster. His owner/breeder clearly thought that a two legged puppy had no value whatsoever, and if you follow my page, @amira.amiracle you know what I think of people like that. Thank god someone heard him crying, and saved him from a horrible fate, and he was taken to Arizona Shih Tzu and Small Breed Rescue azshihtzurescue.org. I was contacted by Ami, mom of @ohhenry_positivelycapablepup who is an adopter and good friend of the rescue, to see if I might be able to take Wyatt. Ami knew that I already had a two legged rescue, sweet Amira, and that I had experience with doggie wheelchairs and prosthetic legs. As many of my Instagram followers know, we lost our entire walk out basement in August due to a city wide sewer backup during the worse rain we’ve ever had (thanks to hurricane Debby) and we are slowly trying to rebuild. So we really aren’t in a financial position to be taking on another dog right now, especially another one with expensive special needs. But what I do have is time (I work from home), I have experience with two legged dogs and their mobility needs, and I have lots and lots of love to give to any dog that comes into our home, especially the “underdogs”. So I’m hoping that with some fund raising, and this Go Fund Me, we will be able to help Baby Wyatt, and get him everything he needs. Due to the dog over population crisis in the U.S. we are so happy to taking in a dog in need, from our friends to the south, so that the Arizona based rescue can save another dog. Every dog that you can adopt or foster, allows the rescues to save another life. Wyatt will need to visit 3d.pets in New Jersey for prosthetics and cart fittings. Because we did everything virtually with Amira’s prostheses, it took over a year of mailing trial leg parts, to see if they fit, changes then had to be made and prostheses reprinted, and mailed again and again. We even had UPS lose a pair of Amira’s legs, that to this day, have never been found. It was beyond frustrating as well as expensive, and we would much rather make two trips to New Jersey to get it done properly and quickly, before his back legs bend any further. We are hoping that you all, our amazing friends and followers, will help us to get everything that this sweet Dumpster Doggie needs, and that he will be able to live a full and happy life just like our other disabled, yet Very Capable, dogs. Thank you all sooooo much. “Saving one dog will not change the world, but it will certainly change the world for that one dog.”
