Hi all! If we’ve never met, I’m Sarah! If we have met, thanks so much for being here.

As many of you know, for the last 16 weeks, we’ve been battling FIP. For those of you who don’t know what FIP is, it’s feline infectious peritonitis, a mutation of the feline coronavirus that presents in two forms, wet and dry.

Betty & Wyatt (their foster names), who you might know as Nutmeg and Pierogi, have spent 84 days completing a cycle of antiviral medications to fight the FIP.

Two weeks ago, they completed their final dose and started their observation period, which is 3 months of being monitored for any signs or symptoms of relapse.

Three nights ago, we noticed Wyatt becoming lethargic and limping. Over the last few days, we also noticed significant weight loss (almost 1 pound since Nov. 4th).

Today he was admitted to Guardian Veterinary Hospital in Brewster, NY, for what may be a relapse of his FIP, but could also be many other things that we’re unaware of.

Betty and Wyatt’s lives started out by being bred by a bad breeder and dumped at a local shelter when they were sick and only 1.4 lbs. Cat Assistance took them in, as well as their other littermate, and have been treating them since.

Unfortunately, the hospitalization and the new tests and treatments for whatever is wrong with him are adding up.

His hospital stay for just tonight is over $2,000, and that doesn’t include whatever medication he’s going to need to get better.

I’ve created this GoFundMe with hopes of taking some of the burden off of Cat Assistance, who have already spent thousands trying to get them better.
