Wyatt’s Journey To Health Battling Leukaemia

Donation protected
On Monday 27th June 2022, Wyatt at just 3 years old was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. (Cancer of the blood and bone marrow) This has left him in a very vulnerable state, after not being able to produce white blood cells he cannot fight any infection

Wyatt’s story:
As many of you may know, Wyatt had been sick with influenza A and Adenovirus. High temping for over a week – his parents Alex and Jess knew that something was not right with their little man and did not give up until he was admitted into Monash Clayton Children’s Hospital on 24th June. Poor Wyatt’s right ear had then ruptured on Friday evening which caused sever mastoiditis and will result in permanent hearing loss, Wyatt then had his other ear rupture the next day, due to this Wyatt will have to have his ear drums rebuilt in the future in the hope this may improve his hearing.

Wyatt endured many invasive tests to try and diagnose exactly what was wrong. Wyatt endured the following platelet transfusion, lumbar puncture, 2 bone marrow collections, further blood transfusions and then Wyatt’s diagnoses was delivered to his parents -Wyatt had B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) is a form of childhood cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. Chemotherapy is the first line of treatment for ALL, and ongoing treatment can last for up to a couple of years. Wyatt's treatment will consist of Chemotherapy every Wednesday and Saturday until this course has been completed. There may be the need for more blood transfusions as his haemoglobin is still very low, Wyatt will also have to take blood pressure medication for the foreseeable future as his blood pressure is remaining high.

This little hero started his treatment with his first dose of chemotherapy on Wednesday 29th June in the evening and has an extremely difficult journey ahead of him, as do his loving parents.

With so many family and friends wanting to help and come together to support Wyatt and his family, this page has been set up to raise funds that will go towards many medical expenses along with travel, parking, and ongoing costs that they will have.

Message from Wyatt’s parents Jess and Alex:
We see and feel the love. We appreciate it. We need it.
Please pray for our boy. If you don't pray, please do whatever it is you do that helps your healing vibes to spread. We need them.
A sincere thank you to those who have already shown us intensely strong love and support over this past week, the most difficult of our lives.
