Goal Met: Help Wyatt Heal with a Wound Care Therapy Bed
Donation protected
Our dear friend Wyatt passed away Feb 4th, with family and friends at his side. He fought bravely yet was at peace. He was able to enjoy exclusive use of the funds to make himself more comfortable during the days leading up to his hospice care. He expressed many times how grateful he was and how much it meant to him. Thank you!
In 2020, Wyatt Howard started to experience pain near his C4 vertebrae and went to the Emergency Room where it was discovered that an abscess had burst near his spine. The rupture paralyzed him from the neck down. He is now quadriplegic and lives under care in Camas, WA. He is confined to a wheelchair or bed at all times, which has led to a number of painful wounds on his back and legs for which he is receiving care. The therapists and doctors recommend a Sand Bed, or a hospital bed with air-fluidized sand that relieves the pressure from his wounds so that they can heal faster. The wounds are gruesome and painful, but Wyatt’s tough spirit, family, and friends are a source of strength.
When submitting the request for the sand bed, his insurance denied the claim immediately. He’s currently able to receive his daily care through insurance, but they won’t cover the cost of a therapy bed and the wounds are getting worse, not better.
Please consider donating to this fund so that Wyatt can purchase a therapy bed and take the next step in the healing process before it’s too late. Thank you.
