Hello friends. I'm not the best at seeking help, especially regarding financial support, but I've found myself between a rock and a hard place and have decided it's time to reach out a hand. I lost my job in October 2024 and have been struggling to find new employment despite my best efforts. While I'm squeaking by right now covering my regular bills with Unemployment, things are really tight and my savings have been almost completely exhausted.

With that context in mind, it's hopefully understandable that the two incredibly expensive quotes I've received for very important dental work on both myself and my 15-year-old cat Zephyr have me at a complete loss. I truly have no idea where to find the money.

My public health insurance cannot cover the situation with my teeth unless I have them remove the two teeth completely and not replace them with anything. I can potentially save the two mollars via root canal through a local dental school at a reduced cost (about half of what the more affordable dentist in the area requires), but I will still need a couple thousand dollars to cover the procedure. Currently, the biggest concern is developing an abscess or having the molar collapse completely at any moment. I'm constantly monitoring the situation and have a dentist here in Washington who can perform an emergency extraction as a last ditch effort, but I truly hope to resolve the problem without resigning to that.

Zephyr's situation is similarly drastic, with at least seven teeth that need removal and a quote of $1500-$1800 for the procedure. I have a month to come up with the money, and I have no clue how to achieve that goal alongside the March expenses I have already committed to.

Reaching out like this feels embarrassing, but I hope that my community won't judge me in this moment of need.
