Help Wonhi Keep Raindrop and Jedi
Donation protected
I'm starting this GoFundMe to try to help our neighbor Wonhi Salzer, recover from a devastating internet scam that has made her future uncertain. If we in the Kenny neighborhood don't actually know her, we've all seen her out walking with her poodles, Jedi and Raindrop, in all kinds of weather. They are a team together! She was so shocked and scared by realizing that she fell for a common internet scam, that the first thing she thought of was trying to find homes for her dogs, to know they would be taken care of. As a little time has gone by, she has realized that she doesn't have to rush into such a drastic decision, and I really hope she can work it out so they can stay with her, because her dogs adore her, and she loves them dearly.
Looking forward to a future without retirement money is a terrifying thing, but Wonhi is a strong woman and is beginning to sort herself out and figure out how to go forward. Most of her savings are gone. She's working with the authorities to give them all the information she can so they can try to trace the con artists, but has been told that she probably won't get her money back.
She has been hesitant to take money from people, but having her life turned upside down is really hard and it will probably take some time for her to rebuild her life. She has agreed to let me post this. Can you help? Wonhi has her house, but she has no income right now, until she can find a job. She's also feeling a lot of stress from worrying about money and the dogs and the future.
So many people have offered help in Nextdoor, and it makes me feel so good about our community, knowing so many of you care. If you can't afford to donate money, your good wishes and support mean the world to Wonhi. But for those of us who can help, I want to offer a chance for us to make this situation better for Wonhi, Raindrop and Jedi.
