I never imagined I’d be fighting to stay mobile at this stage of my life.

Right now, something as simple as leaving my home, attending hospital appointments, or moving safely from place to place comes with pain, exhaustion, and careful calculation.

I’m raising funds to regain something many people don’t have to think twice about: independence.

An electric wheelchair would immediately change my daily life. It would reduce pain, help me attend essential medical appointments safely, and allow me to move through the world with dignity again.

But this is about something bigger than mobility. It’s about stability, recovery, and preventing things from getting worse., and daily quality of life.

Right now, I urgently need an electric wheelchair which would significantly improve my mobility, independence, and daily quality of life.

Due to ongoing health conditions and severe mobility challenges, walking and using public transport have become increasingly painful and exhausting. I attend frequent hospital and medical appointments, and I often rely on taxis because getting around safely is not always possible otherwise. The physical strain and financial cost are both overwhelming.

An electric wheelchair would immediately change my day-to-day reality. It would allow me to move safely, attend appointments without severe pain, reduce transport costs, and regain a level of independence that I’ve slowly lost.

The cost of the wheelchair and essential accessories is £1,650.

However, my situation extends beyond mobility alone. I am unable to work due to my health. I live with very limited financial support and ongoing cost-of-living pressures including rent, utilities, food, and medical travel expenses.

In addition, I will be needing bilateral hip replacement surgery. While NHS treatment is an option, waiting times can be long, and private surgery for two hips in the UK can range between approximately £20,000 and £35,000 depending on complexity and hospital fees.

My broader recovery and stability costs will include:

Electric wheelchair and accessories – £1,650

Estimated annual essential living expenses – £15,000

Potential private bilateral hip surgery – £20,000–£35,000

I understand this is a significant amount, and I don’t expect any one person to carry this burden. But even small contributions, shared between many people, can create real movement forward.

If you’re able to donate, I’m deeply grateful.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as meaningful.

Thank you for reading and for standing with me during a difficult chapter of my life, for your kindness, and for helping me move forward, literally and figuratively.

With gratitude✨✨✨

Wonderful

This campaign will happen in the following phases:

Phase 1 – Immediate Mobility (We are here!)

Goal: Electric Wheelchair + Accessories

Target: £1,950

Phase 2 – Stability & Cost of Living (12 Months)

Goal: Rent shortfall / contribution: £600 × 12 = £7,200

Utilities & council tax contribution: £200 × 12 = £2,400

Food & essentials: £250 × 12 = £3,000

Medical travel (taxis): £150 × 12 = £1,800

Estimated target: £15,000

Phase 3 – Future Surgery and Surgical Recovery Fund

Goal: Private hip replacement in the UK, and aftercare

Two hips: roughly £20,000–£35,000+

Target: Open/Long-Term Goal

Private bilateral hip replacement surgery in the UK may cost between £20,000–£35,000 depending on provider and complexity. This phase will require long-term recovery planning should private intervention become necessary.

My mobility is not something that is gradually inconvenient. It is actively limiting my independence, increasing my physical strain, and affecting my ability to manage daily life safely. The longer I remain without proper support, the more exhausting and destabilising everyday tasks become.

Delaying mobility support means continued physical pain, ongoing reliance on costly taxis for essential appointments, and a slower recovery trajectory overall. Early intervention matters. Stability now prevents deeper setbacks later.

This isn’t about comfort. It’s about preserving independence, preventing deterioration, and creating a sustainable path forward while I focus on recovery. Time, in this case, has consequences.

I don’t take lightly the fact that asking for help is vulnerable. If you’ve read this far, thank you. Truly.

Whether you donate, share, or simply pause for a second and wish me well, that kindness travels further than you might realise.

I’m working toward moving forward again, safely, steadily, and with dignity.

And every bit of your support helps me get there.

FAQ – Please Read For Additional Information

1. Why are you fundraising instead of using the NHS?

I am under NHS care and remain engaged with my medical team. However, the specific mobility equipment I need is not immediately accessible through public provision, and waiting times for certain interventions can be long. My current mobility limitations are impacting my daily life now, so I am fundraising to bridge that gap and improve my independence and stability.

2. What exactly will the funds be used for?

Funds will go towards:

Electric wheelchair

Essential accessories (cushioning, battery upgrades, safety components, foldable ramps)

Mobility-related transport costs (taxis to medical appointments)

Stabilising living expenses while I remain unable to work

If longer-term goals are met, funds will contribute towards private hip surgery to improve my mobility and quality of life. Every contribution is directed toward mobility, recovery, and stability.

3. Why can’t you work right now?

Due to ongoing health conditions and mobility challenges, I am currently unable to maintain employment. My medical situation involves frequent appointments and physical limitations that make consistent work unrealistic at this time. My focus is recovery and stabilisation.

4. Have you applied for benefits?

Yes. I have applied for support including PIP, but I have not been awarded it, yet. I continue to engage with the appropriate processes while managing my health.

5. Why not move somewhere cheaper?

I am currently tied into a rental contract. My GP, pharmacy, hospital access, and support network are all located nearby. Relocating would disrupt medical continuity and mental health support, which would create additional instability.

6. What happens if you exceed the initial target?

If the wheelchair goal is reached, additional funds will go toward:

Ongoing mobility-related costs

Medical transport

Cost-of-living stability while I recover

Private hip surgery

Any excess funds will continue to support health, mobility, and independence.
