Help us educate Ethiopian midwifes in Tigray to save lives!

The Midwives Without Borders association is raising money to help mothers and newborns in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Maternal and child mortality is rising due to the war that started in 2020. We are also working to provide resources to local midwives working alone in rural areas. There is a lack of medicines, materials, equipment and transportations.

This fall we are starting a collaborative project with the organization Green Lamp. This organization has many great supporting projects in Ethiopia. Among other things, they offer paid midwifery training to a number of people every year.

A couple of Swedish midwives will go to Ethiopia and teach Ethiopian midwives in emergency obstetrics.

There is a strong desire from the local midwives to receive training in emergency bleeding, resuscitation of babies and emergency management eclampsia seizure.

We have therefore started a fundraiser to cover costs such as educational materials etc.
