Help friend keep/buy car

I am raising money for my friend who was given a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ by her daughter as a Christmas present back in 2015. Her daughter paid for the car, the insurance, and the registration, but kept the registration in her name. The plan was for my friend to have the car until she didn't need it any longer or she passed away, then it would be given to one of the grandchildren.
My friend is an upstanding senior citizen with integrity who has experienced a lot of tragedy in her family over the past 10 years, first losing her sister, then her granddaughter to cancer, then her husband, and two weeks ago, her daughter.
Her son-in-law wrote her a formal letter, shortly after the death of her daughter, demanding she return the car immediately or pay him $14,000 for the car. When she got the letter she was grieving the loss of her daughter and this added insult to injury. She was extremely devastated and cried for hours.
As most senior citizens, my friend lives on social security which isn't much. She has no other transportation and her bank account has enough to pay the rent and utilities and that is all.
If her son-in-law takes the car away from her, she will be left without transportation.
Immediate help is needed as this man will come and take the car away from her next week.
I would like to raise enough money for her to pay for the car or to purchase another car.
