Help Wolfie get home from the NICU
Donation protected
Hi, my name’s Wolfgang, but my mom calls me Wolfie. That’s me and my mom snuggling for the first time – I’m the little one. My mom and dad are adopting me, and they love me so much they came all the way from New Hampshire to Phoenix, Arizona to get me. They weren’t expecting me until February 10th, 2024, but my birth mom was using things she shouldn’t have been, and she was too sick to carry me all the way. I was born on November 2nd, 2023, after just 25 weeks and 5 days in my birth mom’s tummy. I was just 1 pound 8 ounces.
Here's what I looked like when Mommy and Daddy first got here:

Things happened so fast that my mom and dad didn’t even know that I had been born until the next day. They flew out here as soon as they could, and threw their whole lives into topsy-turvy mode so that my mom can stay with me for as long as I need to be in the hospital. She stays with me all day everyday, even though mostly I just sleep. She even sings to me a lot – she’s not very good, but I still really like hearing her voice.
Anyway, adopting me was already going to take everything my mom and dad had to make work, and my being early has made everything that much harder. Daddy had to go home to New Hampshire to keep working and get the house ready for me to come home. Like I said, Mommy is staying with me, but that means she’s going to miss work. Mommy is a drummer and musicians don’t get things like benefits, so she has no leave or even vacation time and is struggling to figure out how she’ll pay for all of the expenses my early arrival has caused.
The good news is that it seems like my hospital stay will be covered under my birth mom’s Medicaid, so Mommy and Daddy don’t have that worry, but they still have to finish paying for the adoption, as well as Mommy’s living expenses in Arizona for three months or so. If you can help my mommy and daddy in anyway I would be so appreciative, and so would Daddy, he worries about money so much.
Thank you everybody, with love,
~~Wolfgang (Mommy helped me write this)
