Hurricane Helene - Help an Asheville pet care team recover

Along with many other local small businesses, our professional pet care business has been affected in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene (September 27, 2024). As a pet care service provider, WNC Pet Care has been dedicated to providing love, care, and attention to more than 550 families yearly, since 2017, in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. We understand how important pets are to people, and we feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a caring, animal-loving community. Your pets are our family.

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, our team is facing some difficult challenges. Along with widespread damage to homes and communities, we have experienced a significant loss of income due to cancellations for last week's service, as well as immediately approaching and future services and reservations. The hurricane has deeply impacted our team members' livelihoods and will have lasting impacts beyond these next few weeks to come.

A few members of our team have had the ability to remain locally and contribute their time volunteering, along with so many others, to help support our community's needs. However, many of our staff members were forced to evacuate due to a lack of power, food, and water, or for other safety and security reasons. The physical and mental impacts of these circumstances have taken a heavy toll, and much of our staff is currently unable to return to work.

We are looking to raise $6,000 to support our team members during this time of need. Donations will help cover essential expenses like food, rent, medical bills, and repairs, ensuring that our dedicated pet sitters and walkers can get back on their feet. Your donations will be split equally between all team members.

As a community of pet lovers, we are deeply grateful for any support you may be willing and able to offer to help us care for our team, as we work towards getting back to that which we love very much—caring for your beloved pets.
