Medical and Funeral Costs for Bao Nguyen

This is a fundraiser for the Nguyen family to help cover the medical and funeral costs of their loving father and husband, Bao Nguyen.

 

Bao Nguyen and his wife, Thao Nguyen, immigrated from Vietnam to America in 1982 to escape communism and fulfill the dream of building a better life for their future family.

 

He had learned English in Vietnam, and upon arriving in America, began studying at the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1986 with an Associates Degree as a Radiography Technician.

 

Almost a decade after coming to America, in 1990, Bao and Thao Nguyen had their first daughter, Julie. Soon, in June of 1992, the Nguyens purchased their first home in San Jose, California to accommodate their growing family. A year later, their second daughter, Jennie, was born.

 

To support his family, Bao Nguyen spent most of his life working in the medical field as an x-ray technician. He was a hardworking member of the community and a devoted father and husband. He often worked two jobs and through weekends to make sure his family had all of their needs met.

 

With his friends and family, he was always good-natured. He loved to make others laugh with his jokes or spend time together sharing a good meal. Watching movies and music shows were some of his favorite hobbies in his free time.

 

Bao Nguyen lived a happy and fulfilled life until 2020, when he had his first heart attack and was treated at the Regional Hospital of San Jose. He was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia and tachycardia, a condition that caused his heart to beat too quickly. He was able to receive surgery at Stanford Hospital for a heart implant.

 

He had a second heart attack in 2021, but thankfully the implant supported his heart until he received emergency medical treatment.

 

In early 2022, Bao Nguyen suffered his third heart attack and was rushed to Sutter Health Hospital. The doctors had planned surgery to install another implant, but unfortunately Bao Nguyen's heart had another attack between the time of admission and the expected surgery. Because of this, his heart had grown too weak, and the second implant was deemed ineffective.

 

In the early hours of February 9th, Bao Nguyen suffered another heart attack leaving him comatose. The medical staff of Sutter Health Hospital contacted the Nguyen family and graciously allowed the family to finally see Bao in-person due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Thao, Julie, and Jennie rushed to the hospital to be by Bao's side, and the medical staff did everything they could to ensure that his final hours were as peaceful as possible.

 

Bao Nguyen passed away at 3:34 AM on February 10th at the age of 65.

 

He is survived by his wife, Thao Nguyen, and his two daughters, Julie and Jennie Nguyen.
