Help Save Yoshi’s Life!
Yoshi was recently bit by a brown recluse spider while exploring in our backyard. Within an hour, she quickly became weak as she laid in the corner of my room and wouldn’t eat or drink any water. I noticed something was wrong, and comforted her thinking that maybe she just ate something that made her feel sick. But an hour later, she began shaking as her heart rate increased. Yoshi cried in pain as I suddenly noticed that the side of her face had become extremely swollen. I rushed her to the animal hospital, where they put her in the ICU after discovering the spider bite.
Yoshi has now been in the ICU for the last 30 hours. The vet described her as having one of the most severe cases he has ever seen. The venom has spread from her face down to her neck and chest. Brown recluse spiders cause extensive tissue damage and can be fatal in animals like Yoshi. There is no antivenom, but the vets are working hard to help Yoshi’s body fight off the venom and heal itself. The next 48 hours are crucial for Yoshi’s survival.
There is hope! The vet said that she has a chance to survive and heal. But, this requires extensive care in the ICU and possible reconstructive surgeries. After already spending thousands of dollars for her hospitalization and treatments, I don’t have the resources to pay for the additional medical care she needs. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help save Yoshi’s life!
