Hello, my name is Woro.

Under different circumstances I'm a five year old happy-go-lucky little spunk of a dog (a mix of pug, cocker spaniel and pekinese if you care) who loves to run, jump, sniff, cuddle and say hello to my friends (ie. everyone). I was recently adopted from the Adams Country Pet Rescue in Eastern Washington and I've been living with my new parents - who think I’m a total sweetheart - for the last 6 months. Life has been very good.

But, last week I had terrible fall. My parents were terrified and rushed me to my local vet office, North Shore in Bellingham, who determined that I had suffered two lateral humeral condylar fractures (or, in laymen's terms two broken elbows). Other than euthanasia, surgery was my only option.

My parent's love me very much and they pulled what money they had out of savings and borrowed the rest that they needed to pay for surgery. The amount of this gofundme is for the balance of the $12,000 in medical bills that they have not yet paid.

My surgery at Seattle Veterinary Specialists was successful. I had a wonderful surgeon and support staff who gave a lot of comfort to my anxious parents. Though I’m limited to restricted movement for about 10 weeks, I’m hopeful that I will make a full recovery and that some day I can run around like I did before. They have their work cut out keeping me calm and quiet for that long!

My parent have no regrets about giving me the surgery I needed, but they do need help in paying the medical bills that have accrued. They’re responsible animal owners and had a small savings to cover emergency vet visits, but this surgery is so far past what they had saved for. To make the experience even more painful, they recently lost a beloved old dog to cancer and had spent quite a bit of money trying to keep him well. When they adopted me they thought that a younger dog would have fewer medical expenses! Jokes on them!
