Help with Wayne Stone medical expenses

Donation protected

My name is Jenn LaRussa and I am starting this for my dear friends who have became family Wayne and Tonette Stone. Wayne has been fighting bladder cancer since April 2020 (18 mo), it traveled to his ribs, bones and the right side of his brain. He did 6 cycles of chemo and then started bone infusions every six weeks, followed by a CT scan, bone scan and MRI every 8 weeks. Through all of this Tonette waited in for him in her car due to COVID restrictions and missing work.

On August 5, 2021 around 12:15pm Wayne went into Cardiac Arrest. Fire and Rescue worked on Wayne for 45 minutes doing CPR first manually then using the machine which took 3 shocks before they had a pulse. This left him 10 minutes without oxygen or a heart beat. Once they had a pulse Wayne was taken via Mercy Flight to Buffalo General and later transferred to Gates.

Since being admitted to the hospital Wayne has been unconscious and undergoing many expensive tests. The neurologist has told Tonette to be prepared for the worst case scenario. This has brought more emotional and financial stress on Tonette. Wayne does not have a life insurance policy and they do not have savings for funeral expenses. Wayne's current medical bills have reached a point that Tonette will never be able to pay back. Tonette is a hard worker at both of her jobs (Tops and Home Depot). Tonette does not have time off at Tops and has to go into work every morning. She is quickly using up her vacation time at Home Depot. On top of medical expenses that are coming in daily Tonette now has gas, parking and food to pay for.

Tonette has shared with me Wayne's job history over the years. Think about which of these places you know him from and the smiles he brought you... Wayne had his own DJ business American Music Express staring the Boogie Man, worked with Danny Nevereth, WBTA and WBTF radio in Batavia, worked for Ramblin Lou at WXRL radio in Lancaster, a bus driver for both First Student and Transport America, he was THE Santa of the North Pole for the Medina Railroad station, a driver for the local newspaper, and worked at Batavia Walmart for 5 years.

Anyone who has ever met Tonette or Wayne know they now have a friend for life. They would give you anything without a second thought. Now is our turn to give back. As I said Tonette has the new daily expense of driving back and forth to Buffalo, parking and food. She already has high medical bills to pay with more coming in and it breaks my heart to say it possibly a funeral. I ask that you please donate whatever you can and say a prayer for both of them.

Thank you.
