Our neighbors dog attacked our Pit Bull Dozer one week ago today. Luckily I was home and I was able to save Dozer before anything too serious happened. He had to get a ton of stitches and tubes put in his neck. He is probably going to have to undergo another surgery to remove necrotic tissue in a few weeks but he is doing okay. Our neighbors decided to prop a piece of wood against the fence and call it a day.
Two days later my dachshund Nala, whom I’ve had for about 5+ years and was my children’s best friend as well as mine, somehow found her way into the neighbors yard. I think their dog moved the piece of wood and dragged her through a little hole that was left in the fence. My fiancé heard the commotion and jumped the fence to try and save her. She had a horrible wound and her insides were hanging out of her. We rushed her to the emergency vet and paid almost $2000 just for her to not make it through surgery. We are completely devastated about this. The emotional trauma is far worse than the financial stress but anything helps as this was so unexpected and we were not prepared. Thank you
