PLEASE HELP - Fatal Attack At Dog Park
Donation protected
On Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, my brother’s service dog and longtime companion, Duke (an Alaskan Klee Kai), was fatally attacked at Oberrieder Dog Park in Playa Vista, CA by a vicious Belgian Malinois Shepherd (pictured below). The owners had just arrived at the park with two dogs, a small one and the Malinois. The small dog initiated the attack and pinned Duke to the ground. The Malinois then jumped in and grabbed Duke with his jaws, shaking him violently. The owners callously did nothing and just watched. Even as my brother desperately tried to free Duke from the jaws of this dangerous dog, sustaining injury himself in the process, the owners still indifferently stood by, doing nothing to intervene. When my brother confronted them about their inaction, they responded with offensive language and threats of violence. At that point my brother feared for his own safety. A good samaritan outside the park called 911 for him, at which point the reckless offending dog owners drove off in a dark blue Mustang GT (plate# 8YHW226). Numerous witnesses were present at the time of the attack, but all left immediately fearing for their own safety. The attack may even have been intentionally provoked by the owners. Duke died two hours later of collapsed lungs and spinal injuries at Modern Animal Veterinary Clinic in Playa Vista (just three blocks away from the park). If you wish to show support and assist with veterinary expenses & traumatic emotional distress (pain & suffering), please make a donation. (Please also share this campaign with your friends, family and social networks.) THANK YOU.
