For those of you that know our family of 4, we have been knocked down by life many times over yet we always get back up. Our 14 year old daughter survived the unimaginable a heart and kidney transplant 3 years ago after cardiac arrest from undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes. The road after transplant has been sometimes rocky yet her health has been overall excellent. Since moving to Texas in January she has been having complications with EBV which for transplant patients can cause a lot of health problems. We have to travel back and forth to Houston as her medical team is at Texas Children’s. We have upcoming Oncology appointments as well as a heart biopsy. We are struggling as with David’s new employer he is unpaid for his missed time. With a recent unexpected hospital admission we are really set back and somehow still need to travel to Houston next week for Maddy’s Oncology appointment. We know everyone is struggling in their own way but felt reaching out for help was our last resort and hope even if our story could be shared with positive thoughts sent Maddy’s way.
