***UPDATED 7/25/26

Hello, family and friends,

First, we want to thank everyone who has prayed for our Uncle Johnny and supported him during this difficult journey. Your kindness, encouragement, and generosity have meant more than words can express.

On February 26, 2026, Uncle Johnny suffered an unexpected seizure. Thankfully, he has recovered well from the seizure itself, but doctors discovered it was caused by Stage IV lung cancer that had spread to his brain. Since then, he has undergone major brain surgery to successfully remove the tumor responsible for the seizure.

His journey isn't over yet. He is currently receiving a series of Proton Therapy treatments at Loma Linda University Medical Center and will soon begin targeted medication as part of his ongoing cancer treatment. His medical team is optimistic about these treatments, and we remain hopeful and thankful for the excellent care he is receiving.

Although insurance helps with many medical expenses, the day-to-day costs continue to add up. Traveling approximately 40 minutes each way for frequent treatments, maintaining a specialized diet, and purchasing recommended nutritional supplements have created a significant financial burden.

While Uncle Johnny has been approved for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), there is a mandatory waiting period before benefits begin, and he is not expected to receive his first payment until mid-September. Until then, his family are relying primarily on his son's part-time income. They are currently behind on $770 monthly rent and are struggling to keep up with utilities and other essential living expenses.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have already raised over $1,000 toward our goal. Every donation—no matter the amount—helps ease the burden and allows Uncle Johnny to focus on healing instead of worrying about everyday expenses.

If you feel led to give, we would be deeply grateful. If you're unable to donate, your prayers, encouragement, and sharing this page with others are equally appreciated.

Above all, Uncle Johnny's faith remains strong. He is trusting in Jesus Christ as his Healer and Savior and is thankful for every person who has stood beside him through prayer, love, and support.

✝️ "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens." — Psalm 68:19

✝️ "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." — Matthew 25:40

May God richly bless you for your compassion, prayers, and generosity."
