Leslie Renee Wren Gray's Gender affirming surgery
Donation protected
Leslie has waited many years for gender-affirming surgery, and now she has finally had the operation!! But she has traveled from her home in Olympia, WA across the state to Spokane and is staying near the hospital for two weeks for post-operative care while she recovers. As an amputee, mobility can be challenging for Leslie, and after surgery it will be even more difficult because she will need to minimize movement and strain for the best possible healing.
URGENT UPDATE -
After winning the battle to get my surgery approved, I found out that one of the most important pieces, my aftercare, will not be funded by the state as they had promised.
My doctors informed me that I would need to stay in Spokane for at least 2 weeks to make sure that I make a full recovery. That means I’ll need lots of help when I’m released from the hospital, and I’ll be away from my network of support.
In order to make sure that I can access that vital help, I’m reopening this fundraiser. I need to get to $5000 to begin to compensate my caregiver for the day and night care I’ll be receiving.
I’m so close to finally becoming my authentic self. This has been a lifelong journey, thank you for any help you can give.
