This fundraiser is to help with my unexpected surgery, and any donation is so very much appreciated.
February 10th, I woke up at 5am, with extreme bloating and difficulty urinating. I was also in severe discomfort. I went to the Urgent Care, and left with instructions to get some Gas X, and with a list of Urologists and Gynecologists. I waited the next day for the bloat to go down, but it got worse. I quickly changed my diet, and ate nothing that would further bloat me... as I felt like I was going to pop. I couldn’t sleep, for almost an entire week, as I was up every 10-15 minutes having to pee. The discomfort turned to constant pain. That Monday was a holiday, so I called Tuesday to one of the Gynecologists and made an appointment (which was fortunately the next day bc someone canceled!)
At the appointment, the Dr. could not even perform the scheduled pap-smear, as there was a “large mass,” and she was not able to go around it. I then went to an ultrasound specialist the following morning.
The ultrasound specialist comforted me, telling me that he was almost certain the mass was benign, and then I was sent home to wait for the diagnosis. Later, I found out, it was an enormous 4 inch diameter fibroid and I also had a 7 inch cyst on one ovary.... and I had to undergo surgery.
I went back to talk about treatment options, and a hysterectomy was pretty much my only option. I had my blood tested, and found out I am anemic, so I changed my diet (again, although often I couldn’t eat bc of the pain of bloating) and started taking iron as directed by my Doctor.
Fast forward to my surgery... where they discovered it was not a cyst, but actually my bladder filled with 33 ounces of liquid
So I had a “bikini cut” incision, hysterectomy with both Fallopian tubes removed, and was able to keep both ovaries. I was in the hospital Wednesday through Friday, with absolutely no visitors allowed. Luckily, my roommate was nice... although she snored and kept me up till 2am after my surgery I was given a sleep pill the second night.
I then had to do a check-up, and my bladder is still not functioning. I can’t fully empty it, and it’s not releasing like it should. I had it taken out for a few hours... drove back... got ultrasound again... then went to urologist... had to put it back in.
I still have a catheter in, and will have it for a total of two weeks. I sadly am uncertain when I will get to remove it, as I wait and pray after it’s removed this time... it’s healed.
My husband had a pay cut during this pandemic, our rent was raised, two cats were sick for months, and now I can’t fully work like I want to, as I am restricted physically after the surgery. We would so love and appreciate any help❤️
