Help with the costs of Malindi’s Surgery!

As a longtime friend of the Olander family, and the godfather to their oldest daughter Malindi, I feel that it's my duty and honor to hold them up and share this need!

Malindi was born with a moderate to severe Pectus Excavatum, basically the sternum (breastbone) and some ribs grow inward rather than out creating the appearance of a caved in chest. This deformity decreases the space in the chest cavity and in moderate to severe cases can affect how the heart moves as well as limiting the lungs’ ability to expand. In cases like these the deformity needs to be surgically corrected. The surgery is typically done in the early teen years when the patient is mostly done growing. Since Malindi was a little girl, the Olander’s have been saving up for the day when they would need to pay for this procedure. On July 20th 2023 Malindi successfully underwent the Nuss procedure at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Surgery was a success and Malindi continues to recover well! The Olander’s have dedicated their lives to working and serving in Africa so the out-of-pocket cost is that much more challenging to meet. My hope and prayer is that we can raise enough money to cover their costs and take this large financial burden off of them! We are shooting to raise 27,000$ which was their out-of-pocket cost for the surgery. Please consider giving to this campaign!
