Ruby came into our lives 4 years ago, when she was already 3 years old.
Full of personality, difficulty to get on with other animals and a few health issues, we were the fifth tutors to get her in. And I have sworn to myself I would never give up on her, let her down or leave her. She became instantly the love of my life, and one of my constant worries due to her fragility and demands.
During her life with us she has had many visit to the vets due to her chronic allergies and heart murmur.
And now we are facing a new health condition: dental problems.
As much as I dislike asking for help and try to be as private as I can with my personal life, I’ve realised I need to leave my pride aside so I can sort this situation out in the fastest, most viable way for me and my family.
Upon returning from Brazil (after being 2 months away looking after a parent with cancer, with no proper way of making a living) I’ve noticed my Sphynx cat Ruby had very bad breath, and decided to check her teeth. A couple of them looked very dirty and painful.
I have taken her to the vet the day after and found out she will have to go through dental surgery asap.
However, Ruby cannot go through general anaesthetic without having a heart check as she has cardiomyopathy, and we have to make sure she is put under the right general anaesthetics to prevent her death. So now we have to do a cardiologic ultrasound to see which level of murmur she has and which type of drugs she can take.
This pre-surgery ecocardiogram will cost Me £1,200.00+ not to mention the dental Xray on the day of surgery and procedure, which I’m still awaiting on the final quote (but apparently around £1,000.00+).
At the moment performance jobs in London have been very limited for me with the closing of venues, shows and limited bookings. Specially after spending 2 months with my family with no possibility to earn, I’m still building back my income and financial stability .
I can tell she’s in a lot of pain at the moment, as she dribbles and has her tongue out most of the time. I just want her to get well soon.
Her allergies have also been flaring up lately. So she’s in a lot of discomfort, which breaks my heart.
Any value would be greatly appreciated to make it happen straightaway and take financial pressure off my shoulders.
Thank you <3
