Recently, Floyd contracted E Coli, which has seriously impacted his kidney function. After a first round of antibiotics, we thought he was improving, but his health suddenly declined leading us to rush him to the emergency vet. There we learned that his red blood cell count was dangerously low, that he still had an infection, and that his bones weren’t holding enough oxygen. On top of those issues, he also has a build-up of lactate, which could lead to heart failure if he’s administered fluids for his kidneys. Because of all of this, Floyd has been hospitalized in an attempt to stabilize his numbers.

The costs of his hospitalization and the medications have become overwhelming, but I’m determined to do everything that I can to give him the best chance at recovery.
