Help with the burial of Ellsworth Wakan Parslow
Donation protected
My children's father, Ellsworth Wakan Parslow, was murdered in Spokane on Tuesday afternoon, March 28, 2023. It was unexpected and leaves the burial expenses to fall on the shoulders of his children and his family.
It is unfortunate that burial expenses are seemingly insurmountable at this time. I have faith in my community for my babies, their siblings and their family. Please give what you are able. This will be a testament to the care and love a community has for Indian children who lose parents to murder. This is an example of the sudden and final loss that Native families endure too often. More than four in five American Indian and Alaska Native men (81.6 percent) have experienced violence in their lifetime. Ellsworth is one of 2700 cases of Murder and Nonnegligent Homicide Offenses reported to the Federal Government’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. He is a data point in a national crisis of Missing, Murdered Indigenous People. He was also a father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
I am reaching out to community to help alleviate this burden and allow children to grieve the loss of their father, brothers to grieve the loss of their brother and for parents to grieve the loss of their son, who died too soon.
Ellsworth was a 39 year old Native American man with 5 children. All of which are reeling from losing their father to gun violence. There are so many questions they have. Paying for his funeral is one of them. They have a long road ahead and the price of laying the man they called daddy shouldn't be a barrier to finding peace and comfort in these initial days. Please help this family in their time of grief and loss. Please help with whatever you can. My babies thank you in advance.
