Our latest poorly pup is Ted
Late last week we received a call from a vets to ask for our help. They had Ted with them, who was very poorly in acute kidney failure due to stones in his bladder and his urethra. His owner was devastated and sadly couldn’t afford his treatment so the option was to sign him over or put him to sleep.
At only 4 years old, Ted has a whole life ahead of him. We agreed to help him and the owner agreed to sign him over to us so we could get him into surgery and on treatment ASAP. In all honesty we can’t really afford it ourselves as we’re still paying for Watsons bill and everything else at the moment but we were his last chance
Ted had his surgery on Thursday to remove the stones and was kept in hospital for a few days to stay on IV fluids to help with his kidneys and stronger pain meds as he was so sore. Luckily his blood tests show his kidney values have gone back to normal and he’s feeling much better.
The last couple of days he’s feeling much better and brighter but still has a way to go as he’s still not urinating properly and doesn’t have full bladder control which should improve over time. His wound site is very swollen too which we’re keeping a close eye on and is being checked by the vets.
For a pug he’s underweight and also has sores along his back from an untreated flea infestation. He certainly has an appetite so will be fattened up in no time!
We need to raise the funds for his treatment urgently so we are able to pay the vets. Please donate if you can - every £1 matters but we have NOTHING in the bank right now.
