As some of you know, I recently went to Cebu, Philippines for vacation. Around 3 days in out of the 16 day vacation I had a massive motorbike accident on the highest mountain in Cebu.
I was wearing a helmet and going down slowly and responsibly with a guide but unfortunately my bike slid on loose gravel propelling me in the air and landing me on both knees against rocks on the road. I ended up receiving 1-2 inch lacerations on both knees all the way to my bone. It cut muscle tissues around and within both knees and embedded rocks, dirt and gravel deep into my leg. After around 12 hours, and many failed attempts of trying to check into a hospital with no treatment, I finally was checked in. A few hours later I underwent surgery under anesthesia. The doctors administered all sorts of drugs and treatments but however, as I was in another country, my health insurance wasn’t valid so I ended up paying everything out of pocket. Additionally, I accrued so many other unseen expenses like the wrecked motorbike, favors to people who brought my luggage from my hotel 4 hours away from my hospital, long-distance phone calls to all family and friends and more.
And lastly, upon returning, I will need to be off of work for a while in order to recover so there is no guarantee that I will receive any sort of income or money.
With all of this said, any help would be appreciated so that I can continue receiving the best medical care for the remainder of my time and so that I can begin to pay off various substantial debts to those who were kind and helpful to me in my moment of need.
